Gluklya, eller Natalia Pershina-Yakimanskaya som hun egentlig heter, regnes som en av pionerene innen post-sovjetisk, feministisk performancekunst. Arbeidet hennes handler om å finne måter å snakke om traumatiske splittelser i samfunnet på, og om hvordan de påvirker menneskers liv. Konflikter mellom politiske regimer og menneskers indre verden behandles gjennom tegninger, performancer i samarbeid med ulike grupper av mennesker – inkludert migranter – installasjoner og ikke minst det hun kaller «utopiske klær».

I denne samtalen tar vi utgangspunkt i verk fra utstillingen 'To those who have no time to play', som ble vist på Framer Framed i Amsterdam i 2022-23, kuratert av Charles Esche.

Det blir en visning av videoen Antigone Update, som er en dokumentasjon av performancen på utstillingen, og et utdrag fra videoen «1. mai (2017–2019)», som viser noen av de progressive kreftene i gårsdagens St. Petersburg. Vi skal også snakke om boken: 'To dagbøker: Gluklya og Murad'.

Gluklya ble født i St. Petersburg i 1969 og bor og jobber i Amsterdam. Prosjektene hennes de siste årene er basert på erfaringene fra arbeidet med ulike samarbeidspartnere og migranter i Nederland og andre land.

Tidligere jobbet Gluklya med samarbeidsprosjektet Factory of Found Clothes, som hun gjorde sammen med Tsaplya fra 1992 til 2012. Fra 2002 og fram til i dag er hun et av medlemmene i kunstner-, forfatter-, filosof- og aktivistkollektivet Chto Delat.

Siden 2012 har hun tematisert menneskelig sårbarhet i sitt eget prosjekt om migrasjon, kalt 'The Utopian Unemployment Union', som forener kunst, samfunnsvitenskap og progressiv pedagogikk. I 2015 ble hennes verk 'Clothes for Demonstration Against False Election of Vladimir Putin' første gang vist på Venezia-biennalen, kuratert av Okwui Enwezor. Verket reiser fortsatt verden rundt.

ARTIST TALK AND SCREENINGS WITH GLUKLYA

Gluklya, or Natalia Pershina-Yakimanskaya as her real name is, is regarded as one of the pioneers of post-Soviet, feminist performance art. Her work is about finding ways to talk about traumatic divisions in society, and about how they affect people's lives. Conflicts between political regimes and people's inner world are dealt with through drawings, performances in collaboration with diverse groups of people including migrants, installations, and not least what she calls "utopian clothes”.

In this conversation, we take as a starting point works from the exhibition 'To those who have no time to play', which was shown at Framer Framed in Amsterdam in 2022-23, curated by Charles Esche.

There will be a screening of the video Antigone Update, which is a documentation of the performance at the exhibition, and an excerpt from the video "May 1st (2017–2019)”, which shows some of the progressive forces in yesterday's St. Petersburg. We might also talk about the book: 'Two Diaries: Gluklya and Murad'.

Gluklya was born in St. Petersburg in 1969 and lives and works in Amsterdam. Her projects in recent years are based on the experiences from working with various collaborators and migrants in the Nedelands and other countries.

In the past Gluklya worked with Factory of Found Clothes, which she created with her fellow artist Tsaplya (1992 to 2012). Since 2002 to today she is co initiator and member of Chto Delat, which is a group of artists, writers, philosophers and activists .

Since 2012 she starts to work with the topic of human vulnerability within her project about migration, called 'The Utopian Unemployment Union', which unites art, social science and progressive pedagogy. In 2015 her work 'Clothes for Demonstration Against False Election of Vladimir Putin', was first time shown at the Venice Biennale curated by Okwui Enwezor and still traveling around the world , (last appearance: Glucksman, Fashion Show 2022, upcoming : Resilient Rebels, Helmond /NL).
