Performance: TOGETHERING
Join us for a performance with BodyCartography!
BodyCartography’s TOGETHERING brings audiences into the heart of dance, exposing other ways of knowing through radical practices of togethering. The dances, one-on-one experiences and group scores unfold in and around Knud Knudsens plass. The project invites us to practice “audiencing” as we play with how we perceive ourselves, others and our surroundings, both consciously and unconsciously. TOGETHERING creates a space for movement, social gathering, conversation and reflection in embodied practice, behavior, relational intelligence, and intimacy in public space.
Performers Elias Elvegaard, Frid Ding, Hanna Filomen Mjåvatn, Kosta Bogoievski, Josie Elizabeth Archer, Ornilia Percia Ubisse, Maria Lothe, Petter Singstad Skurdal, Olive Bieringa and Otto Ramstad will be dancing for you!
TOGETHERING was originally commissioned and curated by Linn Cecilie Ulvin for Kulturetaten’s SAMMENomGATA and took place in 2019.
The performance is free and open for all. Performances will be ongoing, so come by anytime and stay as long as you like!
Welcome!
BodyCartography Project
Olive Bieringa (NZ) and Otto Ramstad (USA) have been collaborating as BodyCartography Project since 1998 creating dances for public spaces, festivals, cinemas, museums and companies such as the Oslo International Theatre Festival, PS122 and DTW in NYC, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Lyon Opera Ballet, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Te Papa Tongarewa, New Zealand’s National Museum as their first intangible dance acquisition in 2018. Through workshops, choreographies, performances, films, installations and festivals they create participatory spaces for collective imaginings for diverse publics, often beyond the usual institutional frameworks. They are based in Oslo, Norway.
