Click & Collect

Deichman currently offers only Click & Collect services at its libraries. This means that you may only enter the Deichman libraries to pick up or return loans. No other use of the library premises is permitted. Our digital services are still available.

How it works

  • Search for and reserve what you want to borrow on https://deichman.no/sok.
  • Once we notify you by e-mail or SMS you are welcome to pick up your loans at the library.
  • You are also welcome to return your loans at the library.
  • You may not spend time on the library premises beyond this.
  • Practise social distancing: Maintain at least 2 metres distance from other people. We encourage you to wear a face covering.
  • The libraries’ opening days remain the same, but opening hours may vary.

How to order

  1. Log in to your personal page here on deichman.no.
  2. Search for the books or other materials that you would like to borrow.
  3. Click the button marked “Bestill”.
  4. Choose the library from which you would like to pick up your loan.
  5. Click “Bestill” to finalize your reservation.

We will notify you via SMS or e-mail when your loan is ready to be picked up.

How to return your loans

  1. Use a self-service machine to return the books or other materials you have borrowed.
  2. Place the returned materials on the returns shelf or in the returns box.
  3. Practise social distancing: Maintain at least 2 metres distance from other people. We encourage you to wear a face covering.

Why the switch to Click & Collect?

Oslo is currently experiencing high rates of infection among 10-19 year olds, and we have concluded that the safest course of action is to adjust our services as described above.

This is a precautionary measure. As far as we know, no one has been infected in our libraries.

We know that many people have appreciated the opportunity to spend time in our libraries over the past year, and we hope to resume normal services soon.

Click & Collect will initially last until May 10, at which point we will evaluate whether or not is safe to resume normal services.

Thank you!
