Giuseppe Verdi var en italiensk komponist. Verdi regnes som en av verdens aller fremste operakomponister og komponerte i alt 28 operaer mellom 1839 og 1893; berømt er også hans «Messa di requiem» fra 1874. Til disse kommer noen få kirkelige verk, noen få sanger og en strykekvartett.
