Lou Reed var en amerikansk sanger, gitarist og komponist. Han var en av rockens store poeter, startet The Velvet Underground i 1965 og er blitt kalt "punkens gudfar". Han var uforutsigbar og vekslet mellom det kommersielle og det vanskelig tilgjengelige.
