Oscar Peterson var en kanadisk jazzmusiker, pianist og komponist. Han ble lansert i USA gjennom en konsert i New Yorks Carnegie Hall i 1949, og telte siden blant jazzens fremste navn. Gjennom mange år, fra 1959 til 1965, ledet han en egen trio med Ray Brown på bass og Ed Thigpen på trommer.
