Hilary Mantel var ein britisk forfattar. Ho debuterte i 1985 og er særleg kjend for den historiske romantrilogien om Thomas Cromwell. For dei to første bøkene i trilogien, Ulvetid og Falkejakt, blei ho tildelt Bookerprisen i 2009 og 2012, og ho blei dermed den første kvinna som har mottatt prisen to gongar.
